    Vision Statement

    To reflect the University’s commitment to being a world leader in research training programs, the Monash Research Graduate School provides professional, uniform and expert support services for our higher degree by research programs.

    The School’s university wide tasks include:
    • Strategically supporting the recruitment and selection of HDR candidates and managing the HDR scholarship program
    • Consistently and professionally administering the University’s doctoral and MPhil programs from admission to examination
    • Continuously benchmarking performance and proactively developing and amending policies and procedures in response to local needs and national and international trends
    • Actively seeking, interpreting and acting on feedback from candidates, supervisors and academic units and identifying and promoting best practice
    • Providing training, advice and support for HDR supervision including supervisor training and accreditation
    • Facilitating research and generic skill development
    • Managing the Graduate Centre as a central resource for HDR students across the university and monitoring the provision of services and facilities.

    The MRGS aims to work collegially with other stakeholders to provide compassionate, supportive and responsibly managed services and support to HDR students and supervisors and academic units.
