Chapter 4: Changes to candidature
4.5 Withdrawal
Candidates who do not wish to continue with their research program are asked to complete a form notifying the University of their intention to withdraw. Where a candidate withdraws from candidature, the candidate will not normally be readmitted within four years of the withdrawal date.
When re-admission to candidature is sought at a later date, credit may be sought for the previous research work undertaken, along with any coursework component.
The Research Graduate School Committee will only approve readmission following withdrawal where suitable facilities and effective supervision are available to support the candidature and where the Committee is satisfied that the candidate is now in a position to undertake research towards a successful thesis completion. The Committee may request certification by a registered medical practitioner that a former candidate is now in a position to resume candidature
