    Professor King will offer an overview of the generous scholarships, numerous grants and the first-rate facilities available to postgraduate research students.
    12.10 Naomi Brammer
    PhD candidate
    Faculty of Engineering
    Naomi is studying how the laws of thermodynamics can be used to assess the environmental impacts of renewable energy systems, for her PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Naomi will share her experiences of the first year of candidature.

    12.20 Geoff Berry
    PhD candidate
    Faculty of Arts
    Geoff is from the Centre of Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies in the Faculty of Arts and is conducting research on western mythology. Geoff will talk about the many benefits of working from the Monash Research Graduate Centre and having a scholarship.

    12.30 Pudak Nayati
    PhD candidate
    Faculty of Law
    Pudak is conducting research in international law in the Faculty of Law. Pudak will discuss travel grants and the benefits of attending conferences.

    12.40 Melissa Siew
    PhD candidate
    Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
    Melissa is from the Department of Physiology and is using a synchrotron to determine how the lungs fill with air during the very first breaths after birth. She will talk about her research and her experiences of interacting with other scientists in different disciplines and across different countries.

    Professor King will conclude the seminar and invite attendees to join the speakers for light refreshments in the foyer.
